About Rep B Hockey in the BMHA

We have entered into a partnership beginning in 2015-16 with the Gloucester Centre Minor Hockey Association and the Orleans Minor Hockey Association to operate Rep B teams from Atom to Midget levels for players across the three Associations.  At this time the teams are simply referred to as “The Blues”.

Competitive or Representative “B” has been the first level of competitive hockey in our area for more than 30 years, and is the first step up from House League hockey.

  • Rep B games are with body checking at all levels above Peewee.
  • Rep B games are 90 minutes in length at all levels above Peewee.
  • Rep B teams play more league games than at house league level, e.g. Atom teams play 50% more games.
  • Rep B teams generally practice more than house league teams and also typically engage special “dryland training”  for further conditioning and core strength.

Whether you are a player, parent or a potential coach, this document is meant to help explain what you may expect from being on a Rep B team.
Rep B game schedules and league standings are all posted on the league’s official web site http://ottawableague.pointstreaksites.com/view/ottawableague#.VB2ddJRdXFs

Note: The Blues Rep B try out sign up process has now been opened.   Please visit The Blues web site blueshockey.ca once you have registered with the BMHA for further information and to submit your try-out application and payment.  Try out payments are $150 per player ($175 after August 15th).
