BMHA volunteers are required to attend specific clinics depending on the role that they will play within the association. This section of our website is designed to provide important information about the who, when and where these clinics are being offered for this hockey season.

As these clinics do tend to sell out quickly, once you have determined which clinics are required for the position you will be filling, you should contact the association who is hosting the clinic and register yourself as quickly as possible.

BMHA volunteers will have their clinic costs paid-back to them by the BMHA upon providing a copy of the receipt along with verification of successful completion of the clinic. Please contact our Vice-President of Finance for details on getting reimbursed.

Respect in Sport/Speak Out certification is mandatory for all Coaches, Trainers, Officials, BMHA Board Members as well as any other adults who could be supervising players. This clinic is designed as a tool to assist participants in identifying and dealing with abuse, neglect, harassment and bullying in sports.

This is an on‐line course which is broken into six modules (of about 30 minutes each) with audio/visual presentations, quizzes and printable handouts. Because the program is offered on-line, it does not need to be done all at once, it can be completed at your leisure.

This is generally a lifetime certification, and does not require re-certification in later years.

This particular clinic is in addition to the Respect in Sports Parents Program, which must be completed by parents of IP and Novice players, and parents of new players at any other level.

Speak Out clinics can be found on the Hockey Eastern Ontario Website.

Coach & Trainer Certifications are mandatory for all levels of minor hockey.

Clinics & information can all be found on the Hockey Eastern Ontario Website.

For any questions regarding certification requirements, contact the BMHA Vice President Operations, the Director Development or any of the respective Division Convenors.
