Let's get the season started!

Fall 2020 Hockey Registration Is now Open!

Registration Overview

Welcome to all new and returning hockey players.   We are pleased that you have decided to play hockey this season and to join in nearly 400 other players from within the Blackburn Minor Hockey Association (BMHA) boundaries in playing either house league or competitive hockey.

Should you be registering in the BMHA?  Check our BMHA Boundaries page or the HEO League Locator site here.

UPDATE (August 27th, 2020) - U7 is Now Accepting New Players!
With the recent decision by Hockey Canada to offer coaching certification courses, U7 is now able to accept new skaters into the program. Parents of players who are new to skating are strongly encouraged to complete the certification so they can assist on the ice. Coaches will have no physical contact with any player that is not their own child.  Thank you for your understanding.

At this time, only skaters who participated in an Initiation Program during the 2019-2020 season (i.e., returning players) will be permitted to register for the October - December 2020 sessions. U7 may accept new U7 skaters in January, 2021 if current Hockey Canada guidelines are revised. The reasons for this difficult decision are:

  1. Hockey Canada's decision not to offer mandatory training for new coaches,
  2. high number of physical contacts between volunteer coaches and new skaters,
  3. higher player to coach ratios in hockey bubbles than in previous years, and
  4. prohibition of parents attendance at several arenas which prevents their assistance with children who are uncomfortable in an unfamiliar environment.

Options for new U7 players in Blackburn catchment area include: Ottawa Senators Hockey Programs, private ice rentals, and outdoor rinks. Questions can be directed to, and will be addressed within 48 hours. We appreciate your understanding during these difficult times, and look forward to welcoming new U7 players to the BMHA in the near future.

Registration for the Initiation Program (U7) has been split from the remaining age groups due to the delayed start of its season.
